Projects Estimator
Salary: Up to £60,000 base (dependent on experience) + £4,200 Car Allowance

Ferox Partners are recruiting for an experienced Projects Estimator to join a well-established building services provider based in Romsey. The business has recently been through a restructure, realigning the team and readying itself for an exciting new phase of growth, making this a great time to join. The Package
- Up to £60,000 base salary, depending on experience

The Role
Reporting to the Head of Sales Operations & Estimation, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate, commercially viable quotations for HVAC and Gas projects, typically ranging from £20k to £150k, with occasional projects exceeding £500k. You’ll interpret technical drawings and specifications, build strong supplier relationships, and help shape compliant, value engineered solutions for clients.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering accurate and competitive project quotations for HVAC and Gas projects
- Interpreting technical specifications, drawings and client requirements
- Making commercially sound decisions on pricing, margin and profitability
- Preparing and presenting professional bid submissions, including quotations, programmes and technical information
- Building effective working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
- Conducting site surveys and recommending practical, value engineered and sustainable solutions
- Collaborating with project delivery teams to ensure smooth handovers
- Supporting continuous improvement in estimating processes and systems
- Ensuring bids are reviewed and approved through the internal gate process before submission
- Representing the business professionally in client meetings and project discussions
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience producing HVAC/Gas project quotations, ideally in the £20k to £150k range; larger value project experience is advantageous
- Confidence interpreting technical drawings, specifications and pre-designed schemes
- Strong commercial awareness, including markup, margin management and profitability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Smartsheet and CRM systems (HubSpot advantageous)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational capability
Desirable: practical mechanical, HVAC or Gas industry experience; experience creating design concepts or rule-of-thumb sketches; broader building services experience across multiple disciplines; knowledge of Trimble Estimation Plus.
