Purchasing Manager – Hybrid (Near Whiteley, Winchester-Based)
Location: Winchester / Near Whiteley (Hybrid – minimum 2 days in office)
Type: Full-time | Permanent
Salary: Up to £45,000 base + excellent benefits

Ferox Partners is proud to be recruiting a Purchasing Manager on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and growing procurement team, supporting high-profile UK and European projects.

As Purchasing Manager, you will oversee procurement operations to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. You’ll work closely with logistics and mobilisation teams, managing supplier relationships and coordinating import/export processes for centrally held equipment used across UK-based projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project teams with purchasing needs – from sourcing quotes to placing orders

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies that drive efficiency and value

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with internal standards

  • Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to secure the best commercial outcomes

  • Monitor market trends to drive continuous improvement and cost savings

  • Collaborate across UK business units to identify and realise procurement synergies

  • Provide reporting on procurement activity, savings, and supplier performance

  • Support the implementation and oversight of a new PO system integrated into ERP/finance platforms

  • Work with stakeholders on import/export procedures, ensuring robust controls and documentation

  • Liaise with the fleet manager on vessel charter documentation and rate management

  • Track and report on stock levels and assets across UK sites

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a procurement or purchasing role

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and contract management

  • Experience working with ERP systems

  • Commercial mindset with a proactive and risk-aware approach

  • Highly organised and detail-focused

  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication across internal and external stakeholders

  • Advanced IT proficiency (Excel, MS Office, SharePoint)

  • Membership of or working toward a recognised procurement qualification (preferred- CIPPS or equivalent)
