Salary: Up to £95k base plus commission and team bonus and company benefits. 

Working pattern: Remote with 1day at the head office on outskirts of Southampton

Location: Hampshire 

Hours: Full-time, 42.5 hours, Monday–Friday

Ferox Partners are supporting a leading building services organisation to hire a Business Development Director—a senior commercial leader responsible for driving new business across Projects and core Service divisions in Hard Facilities Management (FM). Reporting to the Head of Sales and Business development this role will play a lead role in supporting the strategic growth of the team and ultimately the business. 

This role suits an experienced business developer with strong sector networks and the ability to convert opportunity into long-term revenue and thrives in offering solutions and solving problems whilst having a strategic and commercial outlook. 

The Role

Ferox Partners are looking for someone to lead new client acquisition, shape sales strategy, and build a high-quality pipeline across healthcare, defence, commercial, engineering, and manufacturing. Working with senior leadership, you’ll own the early stages of the client lifecycle before handing over to Account Management for ongoing growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure new business across Projects and PPM’s
  • Develop and deliver a regional sales strategy
  • Build and qualify a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Lead bids, proposals, and client presentations
  • Mentor a small team to achieve high performance
  • Forecast and report on sales activity and conversion
  • Oversee smooth client onboarding
  • Represent the business at industry events and meetings
  • Drive continuous improvement across tendering and sales processes

About You

  • Proven BD experience in building services, engineering, or
     Hard FM services is essential.
  • You will need to have demonstrable experience showcasing your sales prowess with case studies, network and commercial acumen.
  • Skilled in identifying, qualifying, and winning profitable opportunities.
  • Confident leader and communicator.
  • Experienced in tendering, pricing, and contract structures.
  • Values-driven, proactive, and collaborative.
