Role Overview
Ferox Partners are working with a Legal 500 recognised law firm to recruit a Family & Mediation Legal Assistant. This is a fantastic role for someone who is able to provide administrative support to their Mediation service as well as the Family & Dispute Resolution team, and has previous experience or is keen to work in, a law firm/legal department.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a first point of contact for enquiries and referrals to the team, ensuring a positive client experience.
- Undertake initial conflict checks, provide quotations and take instructions for new work.
- Coordinate and book appointments
- Communicate with clients in-between mediation meetings.
- Assist with Legal Aid assessments and administration.
- Set up and maintain electronic legal files and effectively manage all correspondence.
- Maintain all case files to a high standard
- Assist with cases as appropriate and under supervision by the fee earner
- Provide a high standard of general administrative support.
- Maintain good relationships with third parties as relevant to the role
- Assist with billing and deal with money received, as directed.
Candidate Profile
- A good understanding of how to manage a variety of administrative duties.
- A high degree of IT literacy, particularly a good familiarity with MS Office.
- Flexible and motivated.
- Resilient and highly organised in a busy working environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on your own initiative, with minimum supervision.
- A strong team player who supports colleagues and the work of the team.
- Attention to detail and effective time management.
Desirable
- Experience of using electronic case management systems.
- Knowledge of mediation / family / civil litigation process.
Quallifications
- GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English as a minimum.
- A secretarial / administrative qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is an advantage.
