Personal Tax Accountant
Based in Bournemouth, with hybrid and flexible working (can be full time or part time)
Ferox Partners are excited to be working with a well established legal firm to recruit a Personal Tax Accountant in to their Private Client team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high quality tax compliance and advisory services to a varied client base, including individuals, trusts, and estates.
You will act as a trusted point of contact, supporting clients and colleagues while ensuring timely and accurate management of personal tax matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a primary contact for clients, trustees, beneficiaries, executors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring a high standard of client service
- Manage annual income tax and capital gains tax compliance processes, including information gathering and deadline tracking
- Prepare and submit Self-Assessment tax returns and repayment claims for individuals, trusts, and estates
- Liaise with HMRC to resolve queries and ensure accurate tax assessments
- Advise clients on tax liabilities and ensure payments and repayments are managed effectively
- Prepare trust accounts and beneficiary tax certificates as required
- Provide support on capital gains tax matters, particularly relating to property and investment transactions
- Manage trust reporting requirements, including Trust Registration Service updates and related compliance
- Handle overseas trust reporting obligations and ensure deadlines are met
- Assist with inheritance tax calculations and preparation of relevant returns
About You:
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant or tax professional (or equivalent)
Experience & Knowledge
- Strong experience in personal tax, including:
- Personal tax compliance
- Trust and estate taxation
- Capital gains tax and reliefs
- Working knowledge of inheritance tax
- Experience liaising with HMRC and managing client relationships
- Proficient in MS Office and tax software
(Experience within a legal or professional services environment is desirable but not essential.)

Salary and benefits:
- Circa £55,000, flexible depending on experience and working hours.
- Hybrid and flexible working arrangements. This role can be full or part time, and they offer flexibility around school drop offs, picks ups etc.
