Job Title: Marketing and Communications Manager 

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 · Southampton  and Excellent benefits 1-2 days wfh per week and more. 

We’re working with a well-known, purpose-driven charity in Southampton on the search for a Marketing and Communications Manager. This is a brilliant opportunity to lead the storytelling for an organisation that changes lives across the city, driving social and digital campaigns that connect its work with donors, clients and the wider community. The Role

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Marketing, you’ll lead the charity’s marketing and communications strategy from concept through to delivery. You’ll line manage and develop a small team, own the marketing budget and the analysis behind it, and work across all levels of the organisation to capture impact and tell that story brilliantly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Driving strong social and digital content campaigns that appeal to different audiences across the charity’s range of services
  • Developing and delivering a digital marketing strategy that grows awareness, engagement and support
  • Analysing and segmenting audiences so campaigns are targeted, relevant and goal-driven 
  • Overseeing all digital channels, using data and analytics to optimise performance and prove ROI
  • Owning the marketing budget, monitoring income and expenditure and ensuring every campaign delivers best value
  • Leading all content creation, keeping communications succinct, emotive and consistent in tone of voice
  • Leading on press and PR relationships, building public profile and managing media enquiries
  • Working with project staff and participants to capture powerful stories for a planned communications calendar
  • Leading integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns from concept to delivery
  • Developing, mentoring and managing your team, setting objectives and driving high performance

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong social and content marketing experience, with a track record of driving campaigns that appeal to different audiences across a range of services
  • Proven experience developing and delivering digital, audience-focused strategies that deliver measurable results
  • A clear understanding of ROI, managing a marketing budget and the financial analysis around it
  • Experience line managing and developing a small team
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone of voice for different audiences
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise and balance a varied workload
