Ferox Partners are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a market leading business known for being a genuinely lovely place to work. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part or newly qualified accountant to build broad, multi entity management accounting experience within a supportive finance team, while getting real exposure to plant, project and manufacturing style cost accounting.

The Role
Working closely with the Finance Manager and Project Controllers, you’ll contribute to the monthly management accounts for the group’s largest entity and take ownership of day to day accounting and month end for several smaller subsidiary companies. The role blends core management accounting with operational finance support across plant and personnel costs, giving you genuine variety and a strong platform to develop technical and commercial finance skills.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Preparing and analysing management accounts for subsidiary companies, and supporting management accounts for the group’s largest entity
- Owning month end processes including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Monitoring and reviewing plant related capital and operational expenditure
- Preparing plant cost reporting, including maintenance and repair spend, with actual versus budget analysis
- Reconciling fuel reports and supporting fuel consumption reporting
- Monitoring staff related expenditure and recoveries, including recharging staff time to projects
- Preparing staff cost and recovery reports, including days recovered, with variance analysis
- Contributing to budgeting and forecasting across subsidiaries, plant and personnel costs
- Supporting statutory accounts preparation and year end audit
- Getting involved with project accounting, labour and WIP, and machine cost reporting
What We’re Looking For
- At least 3 years’ experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant or similar role
- Studying or intending to study towards, or qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA. AAT level 4 is essential.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, with hands on month end experience
- Exposure to VAT, CIS or similar finance compliance requirements
- Experience managing a cost base or balance sheet within a plant, factory, manufacturing or project based environment
- Good communication and IT skills, including intermediate Excel
The Person
You’ll be a natural problem solver who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what to do. You’ll be able to point to examples of process improvement, where you’ve spotted a better way of doing things and made it happen rather than just accepting “that’s how it’s always been done.” Strong attention to detail, comfortable managing your own workload, and confident working across a group or multi entity environment.
