Role: Interim Accountant (Year-End & Audit)

Rate: £300 – £385 per day

Location: Romsey, Hampshire

Ferox Partners are recruiting for an experienced Interim Accountant to join a well-established, owner-managed building services business near Romsey, on behalf of a growing engineering group in the Hampshire area. This is a focused, project-based appointment covering year-end and the external audit process, ideal for someone who wants to come in, take ownership, and deliver without needing a long ramp-up.

The Package

£300 – £385 Day rate
Interim/fixed-term assignment, ideally starting ASAP through to mid-December, with some flexibility to see the audit through to conclusion
Romsey, Hampshire based
May go permanent for the right candidate

The Role

Our client needs additional capacity and experience in their Finance team specifically to manage the year-end audit process from start to finish. You’ll act as the key point of contact between the business and the external auditors, taking full ownership of the process rather than relying on support from the wider team.

What You’ll Be Doing

Managing the year-end audit process end-to-end, from planning through to sign-off
Acting as the main day-to-day liaison with the external auditors
Preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation
Responding to audit queries and managing information requests
Resolving issues as they arise to keep the audit on track
Working independently, with minimal oversight, to drive the process to a successful conclusion

What We’re Looking For

ACCA/ACA qualified, or equivalent relevant experience
Strong background working within owner-managed SMEs or group structures
A track record of personally managing multiple year-end audits from the company side
Confident acting as the primary liaison with external auditors
Extensive experience preparing audit schedules, handling queries, and resolving issues through to final sign-off
Comfortable working autonomously and taking full ownership of a process

The Person

You’ll have done this several times before. Job title matters less than proven, hands-on experience running a year-end audit from the business side, someone who can walk in, understand the business quickly, and just get on with it.
