Job Title: Customer Development Manager

Reporting To: Head of Field Sales On-Trade

Location: Home-based covering the South Coast region.

Package: £38k- £40k plus car, commission, 25 days annual leave + bank holidays and more

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Customer Development Manager, you will:

  • Professionally manage a portfolio of customer accounts, exceeding budgeted volume and value sales.
  • Increase distribution and grow sales across a diverse customer base by developing robust Joint Business Plans and Marketing Plans (JBPs/JMPs).
  • Differentiate our brands through innovative in-outlet activations, securing maximum visibility.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key customers, becoming their go-to partner.
  • Train and educate in-outlet team members on delivering perfect serves and co-create new and exciting cocktails to drive increased rate of sale.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities to grow the on-trade customer base.
  • Provide insights on weekly and monthly customer performance, driving actionable results for incremental growth.
  • Ensure accurate communication with the supply team regarding promotions, activations, and distribution updates.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally within UK and international teams to align on key initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends, leveraging product knowledge to maintain a competitive edge.

Your Background and Skills:

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or a related field within the on-trade.
  • An entrepreneurial and ambitious mindset, with the ability to achieve targets and manage your own schedule effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, paired with curiosity and strategic thinking to drive performance and recommend actions.
  • Confidence in managing key accounts and nurturing commercial relationships.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to thrive in uncertain environments with minimal guidance.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • A genuine passion for spirits and wines.

  • This is a remote role with the requirement of travelling client sites based in the South Coast of England as and when required for business circa 3-4 days per week and to head office circa 1 day per month.
