Finance Analyst
Location: Pirbright, Surrey (Hybrid – 3 days in-office, 1 day on-site)
Salary: £30,000 base + 25 days holiday
Reporting to: CFO and Managing Director
About:
Ferox Partners is pleased to be partnering with our client who are an SME construction company. They are a specialist contractor delivering high-quality, complex projects for offices, restaurant, and public sector fit-outs. Dealing with an extensive portfolio, we are looking for a Finance Analyst to help the MD and CFO see the business through numbers and insight.
The Role
Ferox partners are on the lookout for a commercially astute Finance Analyst to join our client to help them drive the business forward through better reporting and financial insight. This is a new role reporting directly to the CFO and MD, and will play a critical part in enhancing their understanding of job margins, cost control, procurement, and project performance.
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain robust financial reports to help leadership understand job-level profitability and where money is being lost or made.
Analyse job margins, WIP, supplier costs, and commercial performance across projects.
Work closely with the commercial and procurement teams to track costs and support supplier-related initiatives.
Visit project sites weekly to understand how the numbers tie back to operations.
Support the CFO with management accounts and financial reporting, where applicable.
Act as the internal point of contact for financial insight, proactively producing actionable data that supports decision-making.
Help build and maintain centralised reporting structures, bringing together financial data from across the business.
Assist with reporting continuity and maintenance beyond the initial report-building phase.
What We’re Looking For
Strong Excel skills (you should be a true whiz with data ideally power BI or equivalent).
Naturally curious, self-starting personality with the ability to spot patterns and drive insight.
Commercially savvy – understands projects, procurement, and operational drivers of performance.
Confident communicator – resilient and able to hold your own in a direct, fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in a construction or fit-out business preferred, but not essential.
Able to work with a mix of structured finance data and the reality of site-level complexity.
What’s on offer?
You’ll be part of a growing, down-to-earth team who value grit, curiosity, and results over polish. We want someone who’s hungry to learn, keen to get stuck in, and passionate about making a difference through finance. If you have a sharp eye for numbers, and keen to learn from some of the best, you’ll be right at home here.
