Financial Controller – UK & Ireland
Location: Winchester based with travel to London or Belfast when needed
Salary: up to £62k base plus benefits
Working pattern: 2-3 days office based and 2-3 days working from home depending on business needs
Ferox Partners is partnering with a fast-growing international SME business appoint a Financial Controller for the UK & Ireland.
This is a senior leadership role, responsible for overseeing the regional finance function and leading a small, high-performing team. The position covers financial operations, reporting, compliance, payroll, and a strong emphasis on proactive cash flow management.
Lead day-to-day finance operations including AP/AR, general ledger, and financial controls.
Own short- and long-term cash flow forecasting to ensure financial stability and support growth.
Monitor liquidity, manage multi-currency planning, and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
Deliver timely management accounts, dashboards, and financial analysis.
Manage payroll and pensions for 100+ staff across UK & Ireland.
Ensure compliance with UK and international VAT regulations and oversee audits.
Champion system and process improvements, supporting broader financial strategy.
Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team.
We’re seeking a qualified finance professional (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or QBE) with proven experience in a hands-on leadership role. You’ll be a confident business partner with strong commercial flair, capable of balancing financial rigour with big-picture thinking.
You’ll enjoy working autonomously while collaborating across teams and regions, and you’ll lead by empowering others—helping your team take ownership of their roles and grow in confidence and capability. A proactive mindset, curiosity, and an ability to influence at all levels are key.
