Senior Client Manager – Accountancy Practice
Location: Waterlooville, Hampshire
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week) – Office-based with 1 day WFH available
Salary: £45k- £50k depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and submission of accounts and tax returns for Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies
- Supervise and support a small team of accountants, ensuring deadlines and service standards are met
- Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to team members
- Review and provide feedback on accounting and tax work
- Support performance monitoring and reporting for the accountancy team
- Lead client onboarding and integration into the portfolio
- Advise clients on tax planning, cashflow, budgeting, and pricing
- Attend and lead year-end client meetings and fee reviews
- Liaise with HMRC and resolve client queries
- Maintain accurate records and ensure statutory compliance
- Deliver external training and attend networking events as required
Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- Full membership of a chartered professional body (e.g. ACCA/ACA or equivalent)
Experience:
- 5+ years in practice, managing a diverse client portfolio
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing accounts and tax returns
- Experience in advisory services and using platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, DEXT, and FreeAgent
- Solid understanding of tax legislation and compliance
Skills and Attributes:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information
- Proactive, curious, and eager to learn
- Friendly, professional, and confident in leading a team
